Yup, that’s right. I used “Weddings” plural.
There is more than one royal wedding taking place in 2018 and the world could not be more excited!
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been taking the world by storm with their engagement and all their wedding preparations.
The last royal wedding was in 2011 when Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot.
So you can imagine the excitement when the Queen’s granddaughter, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank also announced their engagement this month.
2018, you have two royal weddings on your hands!
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – A cosy night in at Prince Harry’s Kensington Palace apartment, roasting a chicken together and he got down on one knee… “It was just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and natural and very romantic.” Prince Harry said that “It was a really nice moment. It was just the two of us.” The ring? Prince Harry designed the ring himself using a pair diamonds from his late mother, Princess Diana’s collection. An ode to his mum’s memory for sure. How beautiful.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank – Princess Eugenie described her proposal as “a perfect moment”. Jack Brooksbank took the lovely Princess by surprise by getting down on one knee as the sun was setting in front of a lake in Nicaragua. Sounds picture perfect right? This engagement was slightly unconventional though…Jack proposed with no ring! Well, he had actually bought a ring, but he proposed without it, he wanted her to have a hand in designing it when they returned home. How thoughtful right?!
Which proposal story is your favourite?
A cosy, intimate proposal on a night in spending some quality time together or the idyllic traveller’s engagement full of adventure. None of them are short of romance and memory that’s for sure.
The Wedding Dates
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – They will be tying the knot at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on the 19th May 2018. As officially announced earlier in December from the official Kensington Palace Twitter page.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank – This happy royal couple will follow suit with their wedding to be held at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, just a few months after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot. Their date is still to be confirmed, but the wedding will take place in Autumn (September to November) 2018.
What will you be doing?
The last royal wedding saw the globe decorate their homes, street lamps and even take the day off as they watched Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot.
