Some of the staff members were unprofessional, one lady at the reception threatened to kick us out if the person in charge of our booking didn't pay what ever amount was outstanding, mind you I was just someone's guest and not responsible for the bookings and payments. Instead of speaking to the person in charge, she spoke to me as if I knew what was going on. Her manner of approach was inappropriate and unnecessary, I don't know if she did this because of our skin color or whatever case it was, she made me feel like we were crocks that run away away without paying. I was not impressed with that stunt to a point that nothing was ever interesting for me in this place.

They also made me wait for a good 8 minutes at the gate, I had to call them on the land line for them to open the gate for me. Your reception staff have to pick up their A game , as someone in the hospitality industry myself, what I saw with the reception staff was just not it, busy on their cellphones while we as guest are around was very much unprofessional. They are Umthunzi's first impression so if they fail to give us that good first impression, the rest of our stay will be a total fail.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a wonderful stay at the Umthunzi Hotel for the wine festival. Rooms were clean, breakfast was delicious and we were even allowed to check in early. We would recommend and we’d definitely stay again.
